Article 1. Name
The name of this organization is: Northern California Technical Processes Group. The Group is an independent organization affiliated with the Association for Library Collections & Technical Services of the American Library Association.
Article 2. Purpose
Section 1. General
This organization is a nonprofit public benefit association and is not organized for the private gain of any person. It is organized and operated exclusively for education purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
Section 2. Specific
The organization will conduct public discussion groups, forums, panels, lectures, or other similar educational programs designed to provide an opportunity for the exchange of ideas and the discussion of problems in its fields of interest. The Group will cooperate with and offer suggestions to the Association for Library Collections & Technical Services of the American library Association. The fields of interest of the Group may include any of those of the Association for Library Collections & Technical Services of the American Library Association, e.g., acquisitions, cataloging and classification, series, etc.
Section 3. Exclusions
No substantial part of the activities of this organization shall consist of carrying on propaganda, or otherwise attempting to influence legislation, and the organization shall not participate or intervene in any political campaign (including the publishing or distribution of statements) on behalf of any candidate for public office.
Section 4. Dedication of assets
The property of this organization is irrevocably dedicated to educational purposes and no part of the net income or assets of this organization shall ever inure to the benefit of any director, officers, or member thereof, or to the benefit of any private person. Upon the dissolution or winding up of the organization, its assets remaining after payment, or provision for payment of all debts and liabilities of this organization shall be distributed to a nonprofit fund, foundation or corporation which is organized and operated exclusively for educational purposes and which has established its tax exempt status under Section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
